DDA's vision to transform Dwarka
Delhi was the shining sun of opportunities that attracted lakhs of people each year to the city, and Dwarka was to be developed as a Sub City, a habitable home for the growing population of Delhi, according to DDA.
The initial development saw the acquisition of 5000 acres of land from 11 neighbouring villages to create 29 sectors to house the initial population of around 30,000 residents. 352 housing plots were allotted to various group housing societies, while DDA took it upon itself to develop 52 housing pockets.
